Employee Spotlight on Carolyn Stroud

In this series, we are bringing the spotlight and presenting you with individuals who have recently been promoted, and we will share their journey as a vStreamer and what they love about working at VerityStream. We celebrate our employees accomplishments across various roles and career paths we have at VerityStream!

Describe your journey so far at VerityStream:

In September 2018, I began an exciting new journey at VerityStream. I was hired as a Customer Support Specialist where I received first-hand experience supporting a variety of clients and learning about their business needs. No matter how small or large the challenge, I always put the clients’ needs first and welcomed all questions and feedback. If an issue was brought to my attention, I would investigate and research the issue tirelessly until I was satisfied that I found the best solution possible. If a perfect solution was not currently available, I was eager to identify any gaps and submit enhancement requests to the product team for review. Keeping a positive attitude and going above-and-beyond for the client is how I earned a new position within VerityStream as an Implementation Analyst in March 2020. Now, I spend my days designing and building standard content that would be valuable to all clients and their organizations. I owe the success of my new role to the priceless first-hand knowledge I gained while working closely with clients as a Customer Support Specialist.

What do you think is important for a candidate to know about career development at VerityStream?

VerityStream is the perfect company for someone eager to pursue personal career development. The company is excited to hire people with all experience levels including fresh college graduates who are looking for their start at a software company. If you have a career goal, you are highly encouraged to reach out to your manager and even the President of VerityStream to discuss a path to reach that goal. Even if you don't necessarily have a career goal in mind, you are encouraged early-on to start a conversation about available career pathways within the company. VerityStream wants to see you succeed.

What is the accomplishment you are most proud of (work or non work)?

The accomplishment I am most proud of is graduating from the University of Colorado Boulder with a Bachelors of Arts in Integrative Physiology and Studio Arts, plus minoring in Technology, Arts and Media. By taking a variety of heavy coursework, I realized my joy for working in technology which would ultimately become a large part of my life. After graduation, I continued to explore this interest by going through an intense UX Design Bootcamp which has proved very beneficial to my current role at VerityStream. My education is by far my proudest accomplishment as it got me where I am today!
