This fourth session of the 5-part series will delve deeper into the description and illustration of the various components of a privilege delineation to include the development of required criteria/qualifications for education/training, certification, continuing education, clinical experience (initial and renewal), and additional qualifications for core/primary privileges and advanced/supplemental privileges, as well as, identifying and reviewing the differences between core/primary privileges and advanced/supplemental privileges, and an in-depth discussion concerning advanced/supplemental privileges requiring additional education or training, manufacturers’ training and/or recommendations, and/or meeting specific volume criteria to confirm current and ongoing competency.
At the end of the session, attendees will be able to:
Describe the required criteria and qualifications to request core/primary privileges
Distinguish the differences between core/primary privileges and advanced/supplemental privileges
Identify and apply manufacturers recommendations when developing advanced/supplemental privileges
Identify and apply specialty society recommendations when developing advanced/supplemental privileges
Discuss the process of researching, developing, and implementing volume requirements with respect to confirming current and ongoing competency for advanced/supplemental privileges
