Every year, VerityStream, a leading provider of credentialing, enrollment, privileging, and evaluation solutions for US healthcare organizations, conducts an industry-wide survey about the current state of credentialing, to learn about trends and see what we can do to be better prepared for the future. This information is packaged into an Annual Report on Medical Staff Credentialing.

This year’s survey indicates that both the pandemic and the state of the economy are encouraging organizations of all shapes to reduce paper, implement automated solutions, and adopt process improvements. Overall, we saw a 7.8% boost in organizations who have partially or fully implemented an automated, paperless process for online applications and a 5.6% increase centralization and standardization of applications throughout an organization.
