To support caregivers and healthcare organizations as they respond to this crisis, VerityStream and HealthStream are offering free content and services relevant to COVID-19. Thank you for everything that you are doing to stay safe, support each other, and help your providers and patients.
If your organization is impacted by COVID-19 and is experiencing an influx of healthcare providers, or you are supporting a neighboring facility, you can increase your provider licenses for 90 days at no charge. To do so, please contact your Client Executive. If you do not know who that is, please contact our Support Team.
Healthcare organizations need to expedite the onboarding of providers (medical students, retirees, members of the military) to provide care to COVID-19 patients. To streamline an online approval process for disaster-emergency privileging, the VerityStream consulting team developed content that can be deployed at your organization.
Please reach out to your Client Executive for more details. If you are unsure of who your Client Executive is, please contact our Support Team for assistance.

On April 13th, 2020, a new device was approved by the FDA for Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for COVID-19 patients. CytoSorb is used for toxin reduction and to reduce cytokine storm and deadly inflammation that can lead to systemic organ failure. This device was previously used in Europe. It is a cartridge that is added to a circuit for a hemodialysis machine or ECMO. After client consultation we have preliminarily determined that we will not be adding a privilege detail specific to this item to our privilege library for the time being. Unless we receive information to the contrary, we will regard this as included in ECMO and hemodialysis privileges as currently delineated. Of course as with any in-line device added to the circuit the user must conform to manufacturer requirements and recommendations for use of the CytoSorb device. If there are any new developments or information received, this post will be updated. It is the responsibility of each organizations’ medical staff leadership to decide whether or not the item is to be separately delineated for separate application and qualification.
